Swiss Military Museum Full-Reuenthal, Opening 2006

The events season in Switzerland has been opened on April 1, 2006. The latest museum acquisition are the factory prototype tanks from the best known Swiss manufacturer MOWAG.

In the middle of July 2005, when I just arrived in Aussie, I had the opportunity to visit John's absolute awesome collection of Aussie armor. Thankfully to Keith Webb, better know as my private tourguide, I had a private tour around the museum. It's just a ripper, what John has been collecting for the last few decades. Unfortunately, on April 23, 2006, the whole collection is going to be auctioned.

My first D-Day in France. I spent two fantastic weeks exploring all the little vehicles meetings and military museums. I was most impressed by the celebrations in Arromanches, which I visited on June 6.

On March 16th, 1945, the City of Haguenau, in Northern Alsace, was liberated at last from the nazi occupation. In order to evoke the 60th Anniversary of this Liberation, the aeronautical associations of the Aerodrome of Haguenau have gathered their energy into a partnership to organize on the 18th and 19th June 2005 the "Airshow of the Liberation

1st International Military Vehicle Meeting, Full-Reuenthal, Switzerland

On the weekend of July 2 - 3, 2005, was the first Military Vehicle Meeting held in Full Reuenthal. This club operates also a retired bunker, which was protection the Rhine-River. Highlight was the drive-around by the various tanks from the Museum (Leopard 1, Swiss Panzer 68, Half Track etc.). All in all there were about 60 - 70 privately owned vehciles.
